How do I know if I have the flu?

 

You may have the flu if you have some or all of these symptoms: 

  • High fever (It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever).
  • Cough.
  • Sore throat.
  • Runny or stuffy nose.
  • Body aches.
  • Headache.
  • Chills.
  • Fatigue.
  • Sometimes diarrhea and vomiting.

Helpful Hints to stay healthy

 

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Throw the tissue away after use.

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Hand sanitizers alcohol-based are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. This is how germs spread.
  • Stay home if you feel sick. The CDC recommends that you stay home, not go to work or school and limit contact with others to avoid infecting them.
  • Follow 
    the recommendations of the Department of Health on school closures, avoid crowds and take other social distancing measures.
  • Develop an emergency plan for your family. This plan should include storage of food supplies, medicines, masks, alcohol-based disinfectants and other essentials.
